Wedding Photography

The Wedding party bridal formals the kissThese are a few samples of the pictures I took at Laura and John Simmons wedding (#simmonswedding10414 on instagram). Had a ton of fun. Both were very open to whatever I wanted to do, and both looked great on one of the biggest days of their lives, to date. It was located on the NC, SC state line in a very quaint little area near a beautiful marsh. Everything went according to planned, I don’t do too many weddings, just because its so much pressure and planning, but this went really well. They tied the knot at around 430pm, the ceremony was short and sweet. Laura looked stunning, she really was the center of attention like any bride should be. The groom was glowing with excitement, and the look on his face when he stood in front of his soon-to-be wife was the textbook of a man who was ready to spend the rest of his life protecting, and providing for this gorgeous young lady.

Alright, on the to the technical stuff (my favorite):

I rented the best lens I’ve ever shot, it was a stunning 24-70mm F/2.8 zoom with a fixed aperture. Needless to say, I’m in love. THe look i was going for was warm, crisp images. The lens made my job a real pleasure. super soft backgrounds, and tack sharp subjects with almost every shutter close. I shot my ole’ trusty 50mm a few times, but I couldn’t help wanting to strap that monster 24mm zoom back on. Im pretty sure I shot in aperture priority, some times wide open, or down to a f/4. I shot in wide apertures for very obvious reasons; A) The objective was shallow DOF B) The light wasn’t really consistent, and C) I had to keep my shutter speed above the focal length. I was running up and down the zoom, and loving every minute of it.

Lastly, I have to give some credit to http://charlestonavgear.com/ for making it possible to rent this piece of equipment at a small fraction of the cost to own it, he has a ton of stuff, i was in paradise looking through his shelves. Thank you Horry county for preserving beautiful places like Vereen Memorial Gardens . Thank you to the gentlemen that let us use his truck, I don’t recall his name, but if you’re local, Ill do whatever i have to to get you in touch with him. Thank you to Laura’s Dad, he made sure everything went as planned, and in tradition, I’m sure he paid for it. PASS for hosting all my stuff, at the most reasonable prices, and highest quality
